Happy Autumn All!

Finally Fall has come to South Carolina. Jeez. It was pretty warm until the last few days when it finally cooled down. Crazy. Not a whole lot going on here that is too exciting.....imagine that! So here we go with an update none-the-less!

Jazz: Not much to report. She is still looking for another/different job. Slim pickens around here I tell you! Wendy's isn't giving her many hours so she is looking for something more. Not having much luck though poor kid. She is STILL trying to get into the Navy. She did her ASVAB and scored an 86. Very nice. But she is still under weight  :( So she is trying to build muscle now to get the weight on since no other way works. Gee, I wish I had that problem!! So still she waits in limbo. As you can see by the pic page she enjoyed halloween! Dressed up for a couple of days in Naruto garb (her favorite anime series) and had fun with that. She carved the pumpkin really cool but it is really hard to tell what the heck it is without it being dark. We couldn't get a pic to come out with it dark :(  We were all decked out for Halloween here :)

Luke: Got his SAT scores back and did really well then surprised me by deciding he didn't want to finish his NROTC Scholarship application ! After all of that! I would have understood if his scores sucked or something but they were awesome. I was all ready to help him finish his MIT application for their Nuclear Engineering program via NROTC. He just needed his essays done. I noticed he wasn't doing them and finally he told me that that just isn't what he wants right now. Kids...sheesh. So at this point looks like he will stick with enlisted Navy in the Nuke program and leaves in June as planned. he will have many opportunities for college and officer programs once in the nuke program so I guess I just wont worry about it now. Other than that he is happily going along in his senior year and enjoying drill in JROTC at school and competing. He is busy busy. He is also looking for a part time job, but having problems finding one. Remember when we were kids? Part time jobs were a dime a dozen. Crazy. He is basically driving the Escort full time now since I am not driving and I am sure Michael will be happy to have his Durango back when he gets home :) I will post a copy of Luke's senior pic (which I did not like btw) when I get them back in a few weeks.

Michael: still plugging along in Japan. He did end up in the Philippines for a few weeks where mostly they did humanitarian aid because of the Typhoon. They left just as another one hit. He is back in Iwokuni and will be in a few places before he comes home in January. He is SUPPOSE to send me some more pics from Japan so i can post them. But I am not holding my breath! We still talk everyday (except when he was in Philippines , all we had was email) and do video chat and are both playing Everquest II again to have something to do. He is very much looking forward to coming home. Not long now thank God!!

Heather: I have not gone to the specialist yet. I am hoping for December for that. Not that it will make a difference but I guess the "low vision counseling" will be useful. Though most of it is common sense I think and I probably already do most of it like hold my hands away from my body when walking, don't change anything in the house (so I don't fall over it lol) and even put my finger on the rim of my coffee cup when I pour my coffee so it doesn't overflow. So I am not to worried about having to put off the specialist. The reason I put it off is I got a part time job. Right now I am in training so its full time but will be part time after Thanksgiving. I am working from home doing call center work. I have full benefits and everything and can work up to full time and even management as a remote agent so even though the money is much less than I would have made on the outside, I don't have to drive, so it is perfect. I was very fortunate to get it so am pretty happy about that. perfect? no. But since I find myself so boxed in by my eyesight right now it offered the perfect solution :)

Other than that just waiting for Michael to get home. Wishing he were here for the holidays, we will be bummed without him! Hopefully this is the last year we have to worry about that. 17 months and counting until he retires from the Marine Corps and we hopefully move back to Montana! Love to all and Happy Turkey Day in case I don't get back on here before then!
